Leadership Education | Stock Market

There Has NEVER Been a Better Time
To Learn to Invest in
The Stock Market Than NOW!

Even though many would-be investors are often afraid of investing in the stock market, they are also attracted by the exponential return on investment it makes possible.

And for every story you've heard about someone's brother-in-law who lost it all, there are that many more stories about those who hit the jackpot. The secret to investing in the stock market, as well as in anything else in life, is to get a strong education, a good mentor or two, then take action which includes listening to that nagging gut feeling.

The Bible actually even encourages us to invest, yet for years the church world has shunned anything to do with financial literacy.

In the parable of the talents, the landowner casts out the "wicked, lazy slave" who hid the money he had given him to invest instead of investing it like the others had. He was taken away to be killed for his lack of action.

Yet in a world where we haven't been educated or even encouraged to invest, where do we start to get educated?

Now You Can Get Started Learning About
The Basics of Investing in the Stock Market
From Financial Experts who Not Only
Invest, But Also Teach It!

For years, I've been searching for experts who have all the right characteristics to educate the members of our online community on the stock market. And I've finally found the right people.

Scott Schilling has been a friend of mine for a very long time. When I discovered that he was also working with a company that one of our mentors highly recommended, I was thrilled to re-connect with him.

I invited Scott to speak at several of our live events where he held the crowd captive as he explained the basics of the stock market to a crowd of moms, dads and very attentive teens.

Now he and his team have agreed to be part of this online community to help you get started on the right track!

Here Are Stock Market Basics

The Internet has has changed the way investors trade stocks. Information on companies is now so available that anyone can do their own research and find stocks to buy and sell.

Every Stock Has a Ticker Symbol

Companies list their stocks on stock exchanges which are located throughout the U.S. and compete with each other to attract investors. The listing exchange assigns either shortened letters or the actual name as a trading symbol called a "ticker" to company stocks.

Ticker symbols can be one letter:

  • C - Citigroup
  • F - Ford Motor Company
  • H - Hyatt
  • L - Loews Corporation
  • M - Macy's, Inc.
  • S - Sprint
  • V- Visa
It can be the actual name:
  • NIKE
It can be an interesting combination:
  • MMM - 3M Company
  • TXN - Texas Instruments
Or it can be a related word:

  • EYE - Advanced Medical Optics
  • FIX - Comfort Systems USA Inc. (HVAC service and repair)
  • FIZZ - National Beverage Corp.
  • FOOD - Vaughan Foods Inc.
  • FUN - Cedar Fair (amusement parks)
  • GAS - Nicor
  • HOG - Harley-Davidson
  • HOT - Starwood Hotels
  • LABL - Multi-Color Corp. (labeling equipment)
  • LVB - Steinway Musical (initials of Ludwig Von Beethoven)
  • LUV - Southwest Airlines (from Luv Field in Dallas)
  • PORK - Premium Standard Farms

Here are the American Stock Exchanges: Buy Stocks to Hold

Buying and holding a stock usually means the investor wants to own part of a company. The Investor hopes to make a profit at some point in the future. If the company performs well, the price should rise. If the company does not perform well, the price of the stock will go down.

Options

According to Wikipedia: "In finance, an option is a contract between a buyer and a seller that gives the buyer the right, but not the obligation, to buy or to sell a particular asset (the underlying asset) on or before the option's expiration time, at an agreed price, the strike price.

"In return for granting the option, the seller collects a payment (the premium) from the buyer. A call option gives the buyer the right to buy the underlying asset and a put option gives the buyer of the option the right to sell the underlying asset.

"If the buyer chooses to exercise this right, the seller is obliged to sell or buy the asset at the agreed price. The buyer may choose not to exercise the right and let it expire."

Futures

A futures or derivatives exchange is a central financial exchange that allows investors to trade a standardized futures contract (a contract to buy specific quantities of a commodity or financial instrument) at a specified price. Delivery is set at a specified time in the future.

 TESTIMONIALS
Here's what our members are saying ...
"One great thing about this site (and there are many) is the fact that you understand how people may not see the vision at first, or lose sight of it along the way. This helps everyone to realize that this is a site full of "real" people, making real choices, real mistakes, failing forward and creating real opportunities for themselves and for others, as well."
