Ken Pounders
Ken Pounders is a missionary evangelist ministering to the Nations with a focus on the countries of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Ken and his wife, Sonya, founded Priority! Evangelism in 1997 as a world evangelism training and sending organization after twelve years of new church planting, missions evangelism, and Teen Challenge ministry. Priority! Evangelism has established churches, children's ministries and drug rehabilitation centers in Russia, Moldova and Transnistria and has trained church leaders around the world. Priority! Evangelism has an ongoing outreach to Street Kids in Chisinau, Moldova, the Father's Home Children's Home in Slabazea, Transnistria and the House of Hope Children's Home in Kalinga, India. Currently, they are laying the groundwork for an orphanage in Nicaragua. Ken was saved twenty-five years ago from a life of drugs, alcohol and crime and now preaches the "good news" of Jesus across the U.S. and around the World. Ken and Sonya have been married for twenty-three years and have five children: three daughters (one granddaughter) and two sons. They reside outside Asheville, North Carolina where they enjoy hiking, trout fishing, and gardening.
