I was on a conference call this week, when I smelled something electrical burning in the basement. I interrupted the call to go to the basement where I discovered the central unit was malfunctioning.

I called my husband who casually said, "Oh yeah, that fan only last about two years. Order the part and I'll fix it."

That was two days ago.

In the meantime, I've been sleeping on the couch next to the fire with the little kids and it's been so fun!

Thank the Lord it hasn't been all that cold here.

You know, we take things for granted like hot running water, cars that can take us anywhere we want to go and central units that regulate temperature. In most countries of the world, these are luxuries.

Here in America, they are just more bills to pay.

In this capitalistic society we live in, we often take these things for granted. Yet it is because we live in a capitalistic society that every family has the freedom to live however we desire, go where we want and do what we want.

Capitalism has made America the great country that it is. Yet its foundation erodes with every bill that's passed in Congress.

It's time that common people who cherish freedom stand for what is right.

A time is coming soon when our freedoms are going to be challenged. We may even have to put our money where our mouth is.
