Network Marketing:Considerations
Kim Eskola
Let's look at some things to consider when evaluating the possibilities of a network marketing business. 1. If you are looking to be home, is this a truly home based
business? The usual training you may have gotten in how to market your products or services is probably along the lines of going to trade shows, setting up booths at different types of fairs and businesses. Or being out all the time and seeing other people and telling them about your offers and so on. That is not very home based is it? But, if you have a good company and the ability to market it right from your computer, then you have a winning combination. 2. Does this company offer products that people will want? This might seem obvious, but many times we get sucked in by a
great sounding compensation plan and then no one wants what we are
selling so we fail to make money.
How many people do you know are spending quite a bit of money each
month in hopes that some day they will be able to find a way to
get other people into their business or buy their products? 3. Can you get behind your products or services? You must be able to believe in what you are selling...even if you
are a good faker, eventually it will all come crashing down around
you(and you will lose all credibility). You don't want to be
there, do you? 4. Can you relate to your target market? Who can afford these items you are selling...do you want to go after many single sales or after a few $1,000 sales to make the same commissions? Are you comfortable with the price tag of your product? 5. Is there some form of autopilot for it to run on? This is important especially for the new marketer. There needs to
be an easy way you can get people, say to a particular website
that does a lot, if not all, of the selling for you. You don't have
to be the sales guru or the great closer...the company achieves that for
you...In today's internet age, there is no reason that this can
not be done for you. 6. Are the leads that you are supplied pre-qualified? Having a list of names and phone numbers or emails will do you no
good if those people are not interested in what you offer. The
best way is to get your own leads, but that is a whole other topic! 7. What type of compensation plan does it have? There needs to be good front end and residual commission. Front
end gives you an upfront bonus for the new customer/salesperson
and then the residual is the commission that you can continue to earn
from each purchase through those in your down-line. You want this to be
pretty balanced. You will make a lot more money in the long run if your company is generous with the residual income, but you want people just beginning to be able to do well as soon as they can. Also, if you get a bonus percentage based on what they earn, it will literally raise your commissions to the roof! 8. How does the company support it's marketers? Some companies leave you hanging and scrambling around on your
own. Others require you to pay for some if not all higher level
training. Many have free training calls. Though these can contain
a lot of hype, they can be beneficial to you especially as a
newcomer and recruits to your business. Personal one on one training is best. Ask what kind of support
you can expect to get and for how long. Some leaders will support
you until you get your first recruit and there are a few that
continue to support you at any level. This is ideal. Usually, an
MLM company will have some good bonuses for helping those in your
downline achieve good results, but some plans inspire better than
others! :) You need to take some time and put a lot of thought into choosing
your network marketing company. There is no "One size fits all".
Even personalities of certain companies will just not fit your
style. It is best to find where you fit in and your business will
really grow. Already found your fit? Great!
